Hello Humans!
Its been a while, but im back now with a whole new brand! To those of you who stick around, thank you. Your support means the world to me.
You might be wondering where I've been these past few months. A lot has happened: I finished my senior year, graduated high school, and decided I want to study journalism in college. On top of that, I'm still making slow progress with book two of the New Cov trilogy. With all these changes, the time I have to devote to a blog has been drastically changed, and I've been forced to reevaluate my strategy.
So what are the changes?
Blog posts will no longer be coming weekly, but bi-weekly or sometimes just once a month. I want to give myself more time to devote to each post, and I have no idea how college will affect my schedule. The goal here is flexibility.
An exciting new direction for the blog: I'm going to be setting up interviews with other authors and writers! This is a new thing for me, but I'm excited to get started. This way I can connect you guys to other creators of solid content, and I'm sure I have a lot to learn from them.
I'm ramping up my use of Instagram as a valuable free marketing tool. Feel free to follow me over there @cjhawthornewrites for lots of behind the scenes author content!
I have a new focus, and that is clean, wholesome fiction. That doesn't mean preachy cliche stuff. It jusf means that I want to see entartaining stories that aren't outright propaganda or full of icky sexual content. I already write this type of content, but I used to take if for granted that most other people did too. Naive, I know. But I've realized that good fiction is a thing worth fighting for and that needs to be fought for. To that end, the author interviews I have planned will showcase writers who are equally devoted to keeping fiction clean. I cant wait to share them with you guys!
Those are a lot of changes. But to those of you who stay on board, again, thank you so so much. I hope to finish drafting book two this summer and release it late 2022/early 2023.
As always, feel free to email or message me with any questions or topic suggestions. Thank you for your patience. I'm so glad to be back!
Fly safe,
CJ
