About Me

Hey there! I’m CJ Hawthorne, indie author and journalism student on a mission to produce fun, clean fiction for young people. The world above has always inspired me, and I thrive on new experiences. I was raised on the original Star Wars trilogy and read voraciously since early childhood. When I was fourteen, I decided to try my hand at writing a novel, and a love for creative writing was born! I completed my first draft in the summer of 2018. Since then I’ve continued to write, gather inspiration, and chase my dreams. 

In 2021, I self published Exodus: Book One of the New Covenant Trilogy at age 16. It was such a fun experience, and I met plenty of inspiring readers and writers in the process! However, I knew very little about successfully launching an independent novel. I still have a lot to learn, but I've come a long way. Now, after adjusting to college, traveling Europe, and starting a career as a journalist, I'm back to give my passion for fiction the chance it deserves.

Likewise, I'm giving Exodus the chance it deserves to shine with a new, improved second edition! Stay tuned for the cover reveal, release, and for book two and three to come!
